Our Swimming Classes

Baby & Pre-School

For ages 3 months +

These classes are suitable for children aged from 3 months through to 4 years, they are a great introduction for children and help prepare them for beginner lessons when they start full-time education.

Full of singing and splashing, children start to learn vital skills - blowing bubbles, kicking, floating, reaching, and jumping in.

These lessons are taught in pools heated to a minimum of 30 degrees, in small classes, by an STA Baby & Pre-school qualified teacher.

Children's Learn to Swim

For ages 3.5 years +

Our group lessons help children aged 3.5 - 16. At beginner level, we have a maximum of 6 children per class and our teachers are in the water providing support to those starting their water journey.

Beginners feel comfortable in no time thanks to a helper ratio of 1:2, and plenty of swimming aids, e.g. noodles and floats. Beyond beginner and improver level classes, children can progress on to advanced level classes - swimming lengths (rather than widths) to increase their stamina and improve their stroke technique. Finish in our advanced class, suitable for those who don't want to commit to a full club’s training schedule, but love the pool!

Adult Swimming Classes

No matter if you're a beginner getting ready for your first swim, or a seasoned swimmer seeking to refine your strokes, our group classes are designed just for you (we also offer 1:1 adult lessons). We pride ourselves on individual teaching.

For beginners, we provide a supportive space to build confidence and learn basic techniques at your own pace.

As an intermediate or advanced swimmer, you can focus on enhancing your skills, improving stamina, and mastering complex strokes. Our experienced instructors are ready to provide personal feedback and guidance every step of the way.

Private Swimming Lessons

We offer private lessons on a 1:1 and 1:2 basis for anyone aged 3.5 years and over, including adults.

These sessions can benefit people who need to work on something specific, or are lacking confidence so feel better supported in a smaller class.

We offer regular private lesson slots during term time, as well as offering one-off sessions for those wishing to work on something specific during the term or holiday time.

Aqua Aerobics

Aqua is a great all-over body workout which offers a range of benefits and is suitable for a variety of people, no matter what their age, ability or fitness level - you don’t even need to be able to swim, although it can help to improve your confidence in the water!

Aqua Aerobics improves core stabilisation, muscle conditioning, cardio-respiratory systems and coordination. It provides a feel-good factor and the enjoyment of taking part in group exercise.

RLSS Lifesaving Courses

We offer RLSS (Royal Lifesaving Society) programmes, including Rookie Lifeguarding, suitable for children aged 8+ who can swim approximately 100 metres unaided. The programme includes a range of survival, rescue and sports skills across 9 core awards with additional bolt-on awards also available!

Children aged 12+ can then progress on to the National Lifesaving Academy (NLA), which teaches personal survival, first aid, CPR, rescue and fitness skills in both aquatic and non-aquatic environments. For those that achieve the Bronze Medallion awards, these hours can be used as Recognition of Prior Learning towards the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.

RLSS Training Courses

For anyone wanting to go the extra length, we're trained to offer RLSS (Royal Lifesaving Society) courses including the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches (NRASTC) and Pool Emergency Responder (EA) as well as offering monthly lifeguard training and ongoing training and renewals for Swimming Teachers & Coaches looking to renew their NRASTC.
